Pretender Edition\" data-lang=\"en\">Tweet<\/a><br \/>\n<script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,\"script\",\"twitter-wjs\");<\/script><\/div>\n<p>In keeping with today&#8217;s pretend theme, I will pretend that you would like to know about and hear a few songs from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Pretenders\" target=\"_blank\">The Pretenders<\/a>. \u00a0The group was formed in London during the late 1970s, though Chrissie Hynde was from Akron, Ohio. \u00a0The band has gone through several personnel changes but Hynde has been the constant. \u00a0They enjoyed a fair amount of success through the 70s and 80s, into the 90s. \u00a0They are still together as of 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The first song in our lineup still receives a ton of airplay on classic rock stations today. \u00a0It&#8217;s from the very beginning of the 1980s, January 1980 to be exact. \u00a0Title: \u00a0&#8220;Brass in Pocket&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-7Hy7uAb_eU\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Gonna use my my my &#8216;magination alright. \u00a0OK, next song was their biggest hit in the US, staying at #5 on the charts for three weeks in 1982: &#8220;Back on the Chain Gang&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CK3uf5V0pDA\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Alrighty then. \u00a0The next song is the &#8220;B&#8221;
